Throughout the development of waterproof and breathable fabrics, from the compact fabric type, the coating waterproof type to the commonly used paste film type, the advancement of technology has greatly satisfied the demand for outdoor clothing for people. At the same time, after the functional fabric is developed to the stage of sticking the film, the film used to be laminated to the fabric mainly comprises a microporous film and a non-porous hydrophilic film. Moreover, the performance of the film directly determines the overall performance of the garment. In order to ensure the comfort and safety of outdoor travel to the greatest extent, R & D personnel continue to improve and continuously innovate in thin film technology.
 
The representative product of the microporous membrane is Gore-Tex, which was first successfully researched in 1969. The membrane has a myriad of tiny pores in an area of ​​one square inch - each micropore is smaller than the raindrops and larger than the body's sweat molecules, making it impossible for water to pass through the fabric, but the sweat can be calmly Pass through, with good waterproof, windproof and breathable properties. The adhesion fastness is also high.
 
There is also a non-porous hydrophilic film fabric, the typical product of which is Sympatex. The membrane consists of two substances, hydrophilic and water-repellent. The interior of the hydrophilic substance has a molecular chain structure, and the molecular chain has positive and negative charges to adsorb a single water vapor molecule. By utilizing the difference in humidity and temperature between the human body and the external environment, the water vapor molecules are convected by the low humidity in the ground direction, thereby achieving ventilation. Because it is a non-porous hydrophilic membrane, it has its unique advantages in waterproof, windproof, anti-fouling, antibacterial, and avoiding clogging.
